The Truth About Love

Movie Synopsis

Movie Review Summary

This is Jennifer Love Hewitt in a British film, and that is one of the most interesting things about this film. Why is she in it? From what else she has done she could well be out of place, not to mention her accent. Unlike other such attempts at the romance genre like Notting Hill or Love Actually this one falls flat. There’s certainly enough interest as you find out just how much out of love her husband has become with her. But that is almost the whole film’s story, yet it starts and finishes and is rarely punctuated by the story of the love she could have had with her husband’s friend, who still holds a flame for her. That part of the love story was even more splintered than one of the character pairs in Love Actually – as a result the ending, while it could have been lovely, is actually rather hollow and as if the writer was grasping for an ending to remember.
