Date Night

Movie Synopsis

When a bored married couple of New Yorkers attempt to live a little one evening they become involved in a case of mistaken identity that means life and death.

Movie Review Summary

I like the concept of this movie. Two married people for who the flame is dwindling, go out and get mistaken for another couple who are in trouble, and go on an adventure where they learn a lot more about each other. The problem is this film goes into the farcical and that weakens the conviction of the story. Sure, there’s comedy to be had, but we’re meant to be fearing for their lives here, which is pretty difficult to do when they dodge every bullet and they are able to roll along without melting down in the face of the evil stalking them. There probably weren’t many finer people in the casting for this film so the issue lies with the concept and execution of it. Hey, you may find something to enjoy within this and get a laugh out of, it’s just not one you’ll probably want to watch again.
